This is the best and cheapest solution to change the T3/T3x over to AICS without having to buy expensive aftermarket stocks and chassis. Note, this item is not a drop in. Fitting isn't hard, just takes a little time with simple plastic cutting tools (of choice). The AICS magazine is much wider than the T3x magazine, so the stock must be inletted to a minor amount to cater for this. However the base plate footprint is the same, so any stock material removal areas are not seen. Some of the WR Howa 1500 Short Action drop in fit floorplate advantages are: - Long release leaver for simple and rapid mag changes. Well weighted release lever return spring. - Larger trigger guard for shooting with a glove, and wider trigger guard as a possible support and prevent accident trigger bump. - Uses the factory take-down screws. Tension to 6Nm, 4.5 ft-lbs, 54 in-lbs, or as required by your stock composition and experience. - Heavily chamfered mag entry port for magazine inserting speed. - Extended integrated magazine well to ensure smooth and effective mag insertion and removal. NOTE1. Check the bolt stroke length. The factory bolt stop length determines the cycle stroke length to pickup the round from any magazine. If the bolt stroke is insufficient to cycle back far enough to pickup a round from a detachable magazine, then a very quick and simple bolt stop modification is needed. NOTE2. All our WR AICS short action pattern magazines come with the top rear of the magazines chamfered to allow immediate use in the Howa 1500 short action. Without the modification, such as in other brand magazines, the top rear of the magazine hits the Howa receiver body boss at rear of the magazine inlet port. A fix for this is very simple.

Some WR AICS mags have anincorporated HOWA Drop-In relief.
Some WR AICS magazines come with the Howa relief chamfer in the top rear to fit into the short action Howa recevier without hitting the Receiver boss, making a possible drop in fit solution.
For 223 Howa 1500 SA versions, the bolt stop will need to be shortened by 2.5mm to 3.5mm for the bolt to cycle far enough to the rear to pick up and strip the rounds.

Used extensivly for 223, 243, 6.5CM, 260 Rem, 7/08 and 308.. First developed in 2001, along with the LA version, this SA unit ceased production in 2008. Surprisingly, the market is again calling for this solution in 2023, thanks to the large release of many clone Rem 700 pattern receivers. We listened, and here it is again.Made of aluminium billet. Fitting takes just a few minutes. Note, unlike other designs, this design has the mag enter the receiver at a front on an angle, so the round strips more directly into the chamber, and reduces the bolt resistance when using metal based AI pattern magazines.The inlet has an extra deep angled flange inlet for speed inserting a magazine.Like the original 2002, 2008 and 2019 units, this is made of light weight 6000 series aluminium, but the 2025 version is the lightest ever, weighing in at 130grams (4.6oz).
